Agreed with most written aside from the insurance bit. The Rampage falls under the FMB Tour, in which riders cannot compete without insurance. In no other sport, action or otherwise, is an event's title sponsor responsible for providing insurance to the competitors. That's not their responsibility and it never was. All they do is provide a venue at which these riders can compete if they want to. There's a lot of misplaced anger about that and if anything, be pissed at the rider's SPONSORS for the lack of travel cash or providing insurance/medical coverage. Also here's some perspective... Seeing something like this happen to a rider is a tragedy.. no one ever wants to see their hero's or friends hurt especially doing something that they love. I don't think putting all the blame on red bull is right though, but having a media black out seems pretty ridiculous however and that should not be allowed, and, while I agree with some of what he wrote and respect Brandon for writing that article he freely signed the contract not to post pictures etc of crashes, if it was OK to sign before then why is it all of a...

yep, next? I don't know if I was one of the other black guys (probably more than those two) who had raced world champs downhill I'd like to at least be remembered for a season before I disappear from memory for a Specialized-endorsed feel-good story. Sure its cynical but after they milked Soderstrom's injury for marketing purposes then its hard not to be...

Great story, but Eliot Jackson competed just last year in the World Champs, and Shaums March raced in 3. I know they mean black South African and I know I'm being pedantic but it did come up three times. The Spesh rep should know better. While I'm on a moaning roll the title was a bit silly as well, for obvious reasons.
