1/26/2025 7:20pm Since I dont have the chance to ride or test them myself. But bought them more on a whim, since they are from a company which products I like, using a clip standard that I like. The odds are pretty good that they are the pedals for me, hence the purchase. I normally do a fair bit of research, and...

1/26/2025 12:56pm Yeah I agree. I already have a set, and they are mounted to my bike. Huge fan of other OneUp stuff, and not a huge fan of the saints - But I love the SPD standard, so I ordered a set as soon as the launched. But I am looking for reviews or videos on them, to see how they...

1/21/2025 12:47pm Well, I have seen discussions of it also having something to do that when they produce a frame - They become a OEM competitor. If they dont produce one, they might be able to sell wheels to OEM's for full builds. (Just something I read in some forum somwhere, cant remember where) But, most likely since pricing has been discussed...

1/19/2025 11:58am I believe Specialized has the "exclusive rights" for the genie system for a few years.

1/17/2025 6:10am I hope this is on topic - But since it was news from this week. Just got the OneUp pedals delivered. Some pics and size comparison to Saints for anyone that has been contemplating them. They are very similar in size, I would say maybe 5% smaller overall platform. Tried to "dry" clip them in to my Fox Union shoes...

1/17/2025 12:23am I would agree with Sethimus, that generally whats ridden here maybe doesnt apply everywhere else. But I've lived in a few places in Europe, and generally its kind of "three phases" or three types of people. People that are somewhat new to the hobby ride a lot of YT/Canyon - Good marketing, and easy to order online, with good pricing...

1/16/2025 3:18am And not to forget, their bikes are often like a third of the price of other top end brands "best" models as well. I have however noticed them equipping the latest models slightly different though, more specifically when it comes to wheels. In the past, most of their highest core models, or uncaged models had carbon wheels. From what I...

1/14/2025 4:11am I've even seen brand new ones be so stiff that you actually notice a difference in resistance when pedaling. A friend bought a brand new set of alu flats, and its like the bearings are shot right out of the box. Feels like the bearing or axle is stuck. Regardless - I took a shot in the dark now and...

1/9/2025 9:21am I do agree trying to charge 4k for a frame is a bit too much, they're not the only ones though. SC/Yeti all do it too. That being said, Norco stuff goes on sale a lot; I picked up a last gen Optic frame for 1.2k and bought my wife the complete Fluid carbon C1 for 3k...

1/8/2025 5:18am I tend to agree on that somewhat. If you're paying msrp for parts, prices are probably similar, if you have a shop build it. Only positive is you get to choose exactly what you want. That was how it started for me. You get a prefrence for certain parts. So if I buy a complete I want different tires, pads, grips...

1/7/2025 3:59pm Since we're all beating this dead horse, I'll close with a few thoughts. Assumption on Capex: You all are right, AB could be outsourcing all of their additive manufacturing and CNC work. However, if this is true, its going to make scaling the business harder than it already is and per unit costs higher. Not saying its impossible, but you are either caught carrying all sorts of inventory in the form of lugs and links, or you are somehow ridiculously tight with the vendors that are doing all this work for you, and risk long lead times and lost sales...

1/7/2025 3:45pm Yeah, and the frame prices on the other side of the pond are even more insane. About $1000-1500 more on average for any of the big name brands. Propain are about half that, and they often run 15% discount on everything on their site. So I definitely see why they are selling more and more. Parts here are often relatively...

1/7/2025 3:20pm Ah I see what you mean now. I was actually strongly considering an atherton, the carbon version. But the country where I reside in europe, its currency is not the strongest right now, and the exchange rate VS the pound is terrible. Bring higher VAT and customs fee into consideration - Just the frameset ended up being about the same...

1/7/2025 3:09pm I mean, I guess you're right about that. Its not the first time i've seen companies bring legal action to something absolutely trivial. Something that often in the case of an end user, gives easier entry to a product, or solves a problem. But I know some companies are very protective of anything touching their IP, so this could be...

1/7/2025 2:32pm I mean, obviously they will try to market/show Kolb as much as possible, since he's the newest recruit. I wouldnt read too much into it.

1/7/2025 1:20pm Just curious - What do you mean by "20% more than MSRP right out the gate"?

1/7/2025 1:11pm I mean, i'll admit it - I am dumb as a rock. But could literally a cnc machined spacer, and a thru axle adapter infringe on their patent? I am sure it can, but it sounds strange. And it essentially makes it so sram themselves potentially sell more transmission groupsets. Would be more logical if the C&D came from spesh/yeti...
