11/15/2017 2:26pm I would assume that tyre companies are right now working on incorporating foam into the tyres (if not, they should be). And, like you say, reducing weight in the areas of the tyre that the foam will support. Of course, I've been waiting for this for several years, so it may not be happening at all!

Sad issue is that mtbers are being hateful and angry on bicycling sites. It's about as futile as someone venting about a rude encounter (ex. hiker yelling where's your bell) or evidence of misbehavior (ex. littered tubes, food waste) on the trail... the people they're wanting to give a piece of their mind to, likely isn't going to read their judgemental rant. Is this the appropriate place for you to initiate your mental support group session? In short, the people who are likely to be problematic on e-bikes aren't going to read what you say. Cheers guys! I totally love this one - it's an absolute weapon, and faster and more fun than my sb6 on anything but the gnariest descents. I rate the SB5 - get out and try one!

Personal opinion here but I've always considered 27.5 nothing more than a stop gap until 29r tech caught up and could withstand DH punishment. Designed with proper geometry a 29r will handle just as nimbly as 27.5 or 26. And the advantage of the wider radius tires will again have the same roll over advantage they had over 26rs.

Hey man, (I've just got back from Kaiteriteri myself!) How do you find the Vivid on the sb6? I borrowed a float X2 for 6 months last year and loved it - I find the stock float x blows through the travel in a hurry, then sits in the last half of the travel on repeated hits. The X2 had volume reduction up the wazoo, but it did a better job of getting back to the first half of the travel. I'm wondering if the vivid with the rapid recovery thing is good for that? Also, after some considerable twiddling...
