This just shows why mountain bikers are all around better athletes and people than most professional athletes. It takes a special kind of love for a sport to compete at that level, knowing you could die while not being financially compensated properly. Most people hold money in too high of a regard. Life is not about money and these athletes know that. On the flip side their sponsors should be responsible for all medical and rehab bills.

It's not race fuel. You can actually buy drink/powder mixes that are specifically designed to combat muscle fatigue and fuel your body properly. And vitamin B6/B12 can be taken via a healthier means. Those vitamins are what gives you more mental focus and what feels like energy(along with caffeine and other unnecessary shit in red bull). You really don't need any energy drink. In fact they're probably hindering your physical ability as much as you think it helps. Especially in longer DH tracks that tax your muscle's anabolic threshold.

Back in the day I did some Racer's Edge organized races. Track building was... rake at 10am, practice at 11am, race at noon. Hopefully things have progressed.

Ever heard of the Eastern States Cup? Ya know, the one almost exclusively in VT, NJ and NY? That might be what you're looking for because those of us in the Mid-Atlantic were thinking the exact same thing after seeing their schedule. The names "Eastern States" and "Gravity East" could easily be made more specific.... Something like "The Mid Atlantic Series" and the "Yankee-Fest Bro Party" would probably be a much better description
