Blatant Added a comment about product review DB8

I recently had these come on a complete build. This review is spot on. Terribly un-sexy but entirely capable once you swap pads. I ended up quite liking them.

Blatant Added a comment about feature Vital MTB Test Sessions - Enduro Bikes

Honestly, I haven’t paid much attention to Vital recently as I prefer the editorial content from previous presenters who are gone. But THIS. Wow. Three guys my height who are legit shredders AND can discuss what they experienced in a coherent and insightful fashion. Well done, sirs.

Boo hoo, how do you think us tall riders feel when pretty much every review is for a small, medium or large bike? Just let us enjoy content aimed at us for a change.

Blatant Added a comment about product review Titan V3 (2019-2021)

Interesting take on this bike and Banshee’s geo in general. It’s the best bigger-travel bike I’ve personally owned. I LOVE the high stack, long rear and conservative reach, but I’m tall with long limbs. Anecdotally, I know a ton of people who love these bikes, but they tend to be taller.

Blatant Added a comment about product review Reverb Stealth C1 Dropper

I had a C1 170 for awhile. I concur with much of what you said. I've owned most of the brands on the market and it was very smooth and consistent. Probably the best-feeling post I've had; not notchy or slow. However, I had to use that external bleed procedure ALOT. At the end, probably every third ride. And of course you have to remove the seat, so it becomes a pain in the ass.

My advice to people: do not weigh your bikes - unless you're trying to build up a hill-climb specific bike. There have been a lot of tests and studies about bike weight, and the consensus is, it doesn't matter nearly as much as people think it does. For some reason, we all still think trail bikes should be ~28lbs, it's been that number for as long as I can remember. It was that number when I worked at shops - before we had dropper posts and tire choices beyond: folding, wire bead, or DH. When forks had 30 or 32mm...

Jeff, slow people don't need heavy tires, strong wheels, or real brakes. This, in turn, makes their bikes much lighter.

i really appreciate longer-term reviews like this. I know they're tough to produce, but I think they're really useful for consumers. Personally, most modern bikes feel pretty great for 2-3 rides. it takes me a week or so of riding to really get a feel from what I like and dislike. Thanks.

Blatant Added a comment about press release New Bikes from Banshee! Introducing the All-New Titan 29 and Rune V3

Little late on this. If Keith is still reading, it appears some riders may be able to size down. I'm 6'2 with 34 inseam and +2 ape index. I've owned several Phantoms and Primes and found the XL to fit well. Would love to be able to get down to a large and the numbers look like it's possible.
