Sorry, my point was I dont ever take my bike to the shop to cut the bars and now I have to get a jig or shop it. Its adding cost or hassle to something I can do with a hacksaw in 10 minutes for standard grips.

So after you buy the $65 Park tool saw guide you can buy the $15 adaptor to cut bars on an angle for a problem we didnt know we had? Sure.

Well Graves raced the XC and DH at the Aus nationals this year and placed 7th and 2nd. Tomac was a legend no doubt about it but I the racers are more specialised now than then, Tomac probably did both races on the same bike. Lets not forget Graves also raced BMX at the Olympics

I like the idea of the 3 positions rather than infinite adjustable travel, the simplicity of just throwing a lever and knowing where your seat will be appeals to me a lot, in fact I was looking at a Command post for this exact reason. Having said that I havent bought an adjustable seat post yet, I think ill wait for the Thomson in the end and im pretty sure thats infinite travel.....

I think you missed the point I was trying to make. I think there should be a round in the states and Canada too, I think it grows the sport having WC rounds there. Theres a huge existing and growing fan base in countries with massive populations whats to lose by having rounds there? I was having a crack at some of the comments on here moaning about a conspiracy against Gwin with the choice of champs venue and the big moan about juniors in the US by pointing out that everyone is in the same boat. The South African world champs was announced LAST SEASON if people had been paying attention so this idea that Gwin didnt win there so Whitely convinced the UCI to put it there is just ridiculous. Just because Gwin is killing it doesnt mean that the USA deserve preferential treatment for World Cup rounds. How many World Cup rounds did Australia get when Hill, Kovarik, Rennie, Hannah etc etc were smashing everyone? 1.Was it ongoing? Nope. SO if the 31.8 version is 'bombproof' and Easton recommends it if you want to cut your bars down below 750mm why do we need this bigger bar? - He was unnerved getting back on his old bars. Was that because of all those bar failures you'd suffered from with them? - No, it was because (according to the reviewer) when your bar flexes, it returns at the same rate. Which is why your bars shake perpetually when you flex them, even after you've stepped off the bike and gone to get a drink. You come back the next week...

I cant find any other races that pay equally because none of them do(and im sure you knew that), im not attacking this race in particular I just think its a big pay margin between the 2. For what its worth the amount that this race pays and how far down the line it pays is awesome (down to 12th I think) I just wish the womens field in general was a little closer to parity.
