The issue I have with the Jagwire rotating hooks is two fold... 1. They allow movement of the cables and they do make noise and they break over time 2. The ziptie, although not quite as aesthetically pleasing, is deadly silent, allows no movement of the cables, and good zipties never fail

I have to argue with that.. walked into a LBS and asked for Stans... they showed me bike floor stands..? I asked about film protection for downtube..He told me to ziptie a cut tire down it? haha not all LBS employees know what there talking about..

And there will always be that option. There are loads of bike companies that still go the traditional route through the LBS. Which is great for a lot of people. But there a guys like myself, that are capable of servicing our own bikes. And quite honestly, I'm more comfortable doing my own work on my bikes. And these companies offer a great option for riders. And at a great price. It might not be for everybody, but I for one think the direct sale option is great.
