Some of these were said before, so I'll be quick. 1- Dropper post. There are lots of experienced riders on here that might take this for granted, but for your friend getting into the sport, significant other, nothing will matter more than eliminating some hesitation going down. 2- Tires. Not just DH casings, but to actually use soft, DH rubber on a trail that really points downhill is a game changer if you are actually sliding or pushing the limits. My personal preference? In my experience the DHR is the best all F/R tire; rolls fast and has good edge and brake control.

It’s 11 speed and 11-50, whereas a 12 speed SLX cassette would be 12 speed and 10-51. I scoured the web for a while and I’m pretty sure it’s this ZTTO cassette: https://www.amazon.com/Speed-Lightweight-Cassette-Aluminum-Spiders/dp/B…

2/18/2019 9:12am I don't think RST fork that comes on the 2018 Ghost Kato FS 2.7 is going to perform well or be reliable. For $1700, I recommend looking at the 2019 Giant Stance 1.
