I ain't the biggest critic of the UCI,but no new venues just sucks, from a spectator point of view.

Looks more like a "European" cup than a "World" cup.

If you watched any of the raw footage you saw that it was too much track for some of the junior women. I don't mean this as an insult, it's too much track for me. Anyhow, I think it's a way to get folks up to that level without killing them on those tracks. My thoughts.

I'd love to thrash on one of those, but I can't imagine it holding up to the rigors of MTB and the repair costs would quickly make it unimaginable expensive! Plus when I destroy the battery on the trail I have to then pedal a 50 pound bike out...yikes!!!

I'm loving this sweet new trail! Tyson's lead and vision made this a mountain biker's dream trail. There are more to come and people are flocking to Moab to explore the new as well and enjoy the old. There's plenty of opportunity for all outdoor enthusiasts that come to Moab. See you on the trails!!!

It is a blast! An instant Moab Classic. Many of Moab's "classic" trails are beginning to become degraded big time due to 4x4 traffic, however these newer bike specific single tracks that are popping up are amazing (Ahab, Pipe dream, deadmans in Bar M are some of my favorites), props to the dedicated trail builders!

Aside from the subjective matter of whether or not Gwin "did the right thing" here, from a legal point of view, a Letter of Intent is just that - a letter that describes intent. Clearly, Gwin intended to sign with TWR as stated in the Aug 13 release, but for whatever reason, did not do so. We can only speculate as to why that is, at this point. However, that clearly means there was no breach of CONTRACT here when he signed with Specialized (because there was no contract for 2013 and onwards in place between him and TWR). As...

The team has a history of helping riders win who had not previously won, including Aaron Gwin. Aside from have not signed a contract this statement seems a little specious at best. Aaron Gwin was winning the minute Yeti signed him and never looked back. True Trek World was a great sponsorm, but let's recognize that Gwin probably would have won the world cup on a Huffy. However, Specialized buys champions and Gwin has about 10 years to make as much loot as he can. So i am sure this is about paychecks. Gwin is in a great position.

Andy_Platt Added a comment about news story Brian Lopes Wins the First 2012 World Cup XC Eliminator

I acknowledge the points made in earlier comments but I must say that the only time anyone came close to Lopes was when his foot slipped off the pedal early! I think you could have made the uphills 30 feet wide and nobody could have contended with Brian in that race...
