Honestly, it makes sense. Wiggle seems to be getting crushed by Competitive Cyclist, JensonUSA and CRC (mostly CRC because CC sucks). Why not go one bigger and dominate? But hey.

Excellently said. The riders do choose to get up there and compete for themselves, but as you said: the FEST series is far, far different than the biggest annual single event for RedBull where millions are made. These men are pushing the very limits not just of our sport, but of human ability. And instead of valuing their contributions and paying them what they deserve, our industry is treating them like circus animals.
