This new 2017 Santa Cruz Tallboy could be the best Trail / All Mountain setup out there. Whether you’re looking to go on an all-day mega adventure or take it out on an afternoon enduro trail rip this setup won’t disappoint.

The updated VPP 3 (Virtual Pivot Point) suspension, the additional 10mm of travel, longer top tube, slacker headtube, improved carbon fiber layup and design put the modern Tallboy design light years ahead of its predecessors.

Where the early Tallboy’s felt like about 80mm travel bikes the redesigned VPP 3 produces a much more continuous feeling suspension throughout the stroke. This equates to substantially better performance on both the small bump compliance as well as ramping deeper into the travel. Instead of feeling like you’re skipping across the trail the new Tallboy is confident and planted even when pushed to modern enduro race speeds.

This custom build by BikeCo.com features carbon handlebars, carbon cranks and carbon wheels to emphasize trail personality with budget conscious Magura MT5 brakes (still my personal favorite), X01 drivetrain and Fox Transfer Performance adjustable post. Form and function are amazing on this build. There isn’t any wasted movement or dollars so to speak from an on trail point of view.
