Wow, I really did curse those guys.  But then I replaced them with Amaury who also got bit.  Only redemption was picking Indy Deavoll for Jr Women as filler who did really well.

Oh my word. They've done it, the mad lads they've done it. I did pick Finn instead of Jordan (and should have made the swap after the rain but whatever)... But I've actually picked a team this round. If this isn't my best result on the season then I'm gonna complain about the format to Spomer like everyone else 😂

I picked exactly per your initial, cursed suggestion (with Indy as the filler, yep), thanks mate. Probably my worst round yet, and I've been pretty mediocre so far!

LOL!

yep lol a TON of us picked a pretty obvious team. i wanna see how many picked the same team but did Jordan instead of Finn, and it still wasn't enough for the win because the top team was so massive. 39 points ahead of second place, dang.

i feel like nobody did that team set up but with jordan... hm, weird

ill take a tied for 9th. technically top 10! lol

I’m going to stop picking multiple elite men.  Can’t do worse 😂

This season was going so well and then I decided to pick Lachlan and Bode Burke this round (sorry boys!).

Welp... It's a wet one. Roll the dice, lads. I guess with the new format it begs the question. Do you still lock in winning riders, at the risk of them just crashing? Or do you pick a wider roster to spread the risk of the wet? But with a lower point ceiling?

Really curious to see how the rider's costs are calculated. For example Thibaut Daprela has 0 points on the season and is somehow the 5th most expensive rider. Same sort of logic for Tahnee Seagrave or Millie Johnset with other riders consistently out preforming them and costing less? Its like the pre-season rankings still hold value even now that were halfway though and have good rider data for the season.

yeah, might be nice to weigh their current overall points against previous seasons overall total to generate a cost. so you still integrate the precedent but, ideally, rely on it less and less through out the season. as it gets out weighted by the current overall point total. someone smarter than me could write a basic equation to achieve that.

i guess you could imply the scale balances out halfway through the season, 50% weighted towards previous overall and current overall. and then scales naturally, first round inherently has 0% weight towards current points given theyre all 0. and potentially last event weighted 100% solely on current overall points, to really capture the overall title race importance, and completely dismiss any strong performers of last year who are either struggling or out with injury.

Alright after atrocious luck last round, I'm taking a wild swing and basing my team around splashing all my cash on both Alran Bros. Sometimes you gotta listen to your heart!

i wanted to do that but didn't have the balls to take one of my actual picks away to pick both. would make for a sick winning team tho. imagine if they went 1-2 (in les gets)

Well, the whole point of twins is to have a spare, so I guess I did ok! Wonder how many went for Max and Hattie like me, really strong results apart from Till, but I image many had similar choices to mine with a better result than Till...

Didn't see Hattie as a top contender today actually, put my money on Scarsi instead. But damn the women elite are tough. Every realistic top ten contender is like >>200k.

Thought I may have had it, but I fumbled elite men. I didn't realize the track was gonna dry out THAT much. Part of me was kinda bummed to see Martin run flats still on a track that fast and dry. As much as I appreciate the flats culture. It clearly looked like a liability, even at the very beginning of the track.

I also had Max and Hattie. I switched to Hattie from Marine Cabirou last minute. Not a huge payoff but an improvement.

Last minute I also changed some of my other pics for Sacha Birzin and Oli Zwar instead of going cheaper in the junior men and going with a better 2nd elite male or female. I had a good feeling about Oli and I couldn't get who I wanted with some of the other riders I had picked so I went for some darker horses and they didn't pull through.
