Hi. I'm looking for recommendations for a 20" full suspension bike for my 4 year old. he currently has an Early Rider Hellion 16 and is doing great but he really needs a ride with suspension now to help him have a real go at some more adventurous trails.
Any recommendations welcomed and even better if you have a bike for sale or have a child who'll soon be moving up and your looking to move your bike on.
We're based in Wirral UK.
Spawn cycles is the only company I can think of off the top of my head making an FS bike in that size. must be a big dude to be ready for 20" at 4 years old.
Is anyone even making decent suspension products for a bike that size? I remember in a Jackson goldstone podcast he said his dad was basically rebuilding his bike daily when he was younger. I’m unsure how much the tech has progressed for kids but it may be worth checking into versus a lightweight hardtail or rigid bike.
Commencal does make a full squish 20 inch if you are set on it. Not cheap by any means but I’d be willing to bet the quality is close to as good as you can get in that market.
X2 on the Commencal. They make a mini-sized Clash Enduro bike with 20" wheels. It costs more than my full-size Enduro bike did, but if you don't mind paying, you probably won't find anything better-suited:

Kids that age don’t really weigh enough to get the suspension moving much. I’d maybe look at bigger tires and lower pressure.
The only options that come to mind for a 20" are the Commencal or the Norco Fluid 20.

FWIW the Norco kinematics have a much higher starting leverage than an adult bike would to keep the shock moving effectively. The manitou fork is ok but I have always felt it was the forks that held back tiny FS bikes.
