I rarely see anyone without a dropper post these days. I really want one, and am saving for one. Is the KS ETen any good? I've heard many good things about it. Is there anyone else here with a dropper? I feel really weird!

In short, your life will change forever (and for the better) after a dropper.
It makes me angry
The exact was said about suspension when it first showed up. What a fad that has turned out to be.

This. So much this.
TrailHead, I sold my last two Command Posts on CL for $120 each. They were both brand new. So keep a close eye on CL for deals like these if money is tight.
Seriously, there are very few who have used a dropper post and said "meh, it's alright." The response to the concept has been so overwhelmingly positive, I would not be surprised to see it migrate into other riding disciplines over the next few years -- CX bikes with adjustable seatposts anyone?
Buy the most reliable on you can get. Most seem to survive about 3-12 months and many aren't user serviceable.
They often develop problems such as side to side play and rise and lower failures.
They are a convenience, not a tool, it depends on your terrain as to how much convenience they'll give you,
Don't buy a 100mm dropper it's not really enough for most people, buy a 150mm if you want to be slammed or are tall, 125mm is OK for most but not always perfect.
I wish you the best of luck in life - you will need it with that face
Again, good luck
