There will be Enduro Racing at Sea Otter 2014

Just a heads up, Enduro is on the event schedule for Sea Otter in 2014. We're not sure of course details or anything, but it's fun to speculate about racing 7 "stages" down the DH course while riding back up the road, haha.

Sea Otter notes their race will be a good introduction to the racing format and that it will feature "singletrack descents."

Stage 1 down the DH course
Stage 2 down the Dual Slalom course
Stage 3 through the pits weaving in and out of people and collecting as much swag as possible
Stage 4 best trick into the air bag (speed and style format)
Stage 5 riders will be broken up into teams and must pedal the Sierra Nevada beer cart around while chugging beer, teams receive equal times

Well, I guess "Enduro" has gone main stream...or jumped the shark
Who will be sanctioning the "PRO" Category?
Will USAC absorbing/ruining this racing style like they did SuperD?

Interesting. Good question? Who sanctions it? What's the entry fee? What are the courses? I should give them a call and find out.

heck yeah you should! make sure it's a dialed race. you know how to run quality races in the same terrain!

There's just no way that they can have good stages at Sea Otter. The "singletrack descents" are going to be a joke. The DH is laughable and the SuperD is a road race there's just no way.

^^To be fair Sea Otter has never really been about the racing. Okay, except for slalom which will aways be rad.

Enduro race at Sea Otter? Laughable. $100 to climb a paved road and descend another paved road 7 times in a row. No thanks. They should have a pixie bike race on the slalom course. 16" wheels max, no brakes allowed, not even coasters. I'd pay $100 to race that sh!t

Ok, a little post back on this thread. The course has been released. The entry fee is only $45, not $100 @beaverbiker. "Haters wanna hate, lovers wanna love, I don't even want, none of the above..." lol
