watching the weather this morning, it looks like winter is here for most of the country (and has been for some of you for a while). rain, snow, cold, lack of daylight...how do you make it through the short days and less-than-favorable conditions with your bike?

Just put a few more layers on, lower tyre pressures, man up and go for it! Yes conditions aren't the same as in summer, but push yourself through winter and the next summer season will be ace Smile

eventually, you have to give in and either snowboard, or just work, or watch a movie, play guitar or something. today though, it's gonna be in the 50's and sunny in denver. so after i meet with a client, i'm going to ride white ranch. if you can get it, get it while you can...

For me, I just go snowboard. But i'm also at school where it doesn't really snow so I can almost always get some riding in.

For me winter is my favorite riding season. No summer allergies to deal with. Just dress warmer and get a good headlight, it'a all good.

Scope new trails, Dig new trails, Improve existing trails. Next summer is much better that way.

Being in California, I just keep riding. Most of the weekends are full of fall house projects now so it's less mtb, but I am getting out and riding the road bike for base miles just about every day.

If the weather has got you trapped inside, just click here and go throw down some triple flips at the whistler bike park.

I live in Saskatchewan, where long hard winters have killed thousands of pioneers!
People have been getting lost in the barrens for centuries here, and then die from the 8 month long and hard winters.

But all you need is to get creative:

Winter for me in Vancouver consist of tons of training and heading up for skiing as much as possible. Winter for me is good times, good down time and time to focus and train to do my best next season.

Laynehip wins.

Although I think we should have a contest to determine who's winter has killed more pioneers :D

I just got one of these.

Here, winter is the best riding time. Rain, tacky trails, dirt you can actually dig and shape, and optimal riding temperatures (like 10-15C, most of the time). After 6 months of sun and heat (and quite literally NO rain), it's a blessing when winter finally gets here. This year it's even a bit early (been raining for the last 3 days straight) - here's hoping this means we're in for a good year!
