Inverted X-Fusion Revel HLR Fork

No, it's not bent. While most forks have parallel steerer, stanchion, and lower tubes, the Revel is at an angle. X-Fusion did this to take up some of the offset required by the 27.5 and 29-inch wheels it's designed to fit.

Will-burr/Dave_Camp On top of the change being so minimal that not even the highest level pro would feel it, the other issue to dissolve the theory of this messing with your handling is that the forces a traditional fork takes while under breaking or the forces from the trail would cause the fork to flex back or twist torsionally more dramatically than a % of the USD offset being built into the crown. Having the unpredictable flex of a traditional fork will cause many more steering issues that putting some offset in the crown/steerer. On top of that, the performance benefits of absorbing energy more efficiently far out weigh what both of your dynamic geo arguments warrant. There is much more that comes into play... The geometry of a bike is also heavily impacted by how the rear suspension works which can be drastically different from bike to bike.

Changing the rake dynamically as the fork compresses is not good for predictable handling. The reduced rake as you go deeper and deeper in the travel will make it slower steering at bottom out. Look at motocross bike with long travel, they always have constant rake throughout the long travel for predictable handling...

@david_camp The main advantage of this, which is not mentioned above is that the fork sits at a more natural angle to take impacts from the terrain of the trail. Less force is driven into the chassis and more of the force is driven into the spring and damping. One major factor that comes into play with the Revel's chassis design is under heavy breaking and square edge hits the chassis is not flexing or bowing backwards even close to as much as a traditional style fork. You are correct that the wheel is slightly more rearward at bottom out but this works in the same way as a bike with a rearward wheel path. It's a more natural direction for the bike to absorb energy.

Is this going to affect dynamic geometry? as in- when the fork compresses your front wheel will 'tuck' more under the frame than with a standard parallel fork?

Might be weird.
