Race Only Springs Launches Progressive Coil Shock Springs 10

Dual rate springs for shocks provide progressive spring solution for linear frame designs.

Race Only Springs Launches Progressive Coil Shock Springs

After the success of our fork springs we are finally bringing our second product to market. Our Boxxer springs showed just how good a high performance coil can be, once riders felt the difference the inevitable question arose, what about progressive shock springs?

After a lengthy design process with our manufacturer Eibach, we finally have a solution to the coil shock vs air shock debate. Our new shock springs come in 7 rates, from 350lbs up to 500lbs in 25lb increments, stroke is 75mm, with the rate progressively rising from 50-54mm, and the higher rate in use from 54-75mm. This allows for all the benefits of a coil shock along with perfect support deep in the travel for flat landings and big impacts. This helps a lot of bikes currently on the market that don't get along too well with a coil shock due to linear frame linkage designs.

Again we are relying on the highest grade materials available, Eibachs high tensile motorsport grade wire is used throughout our line of springs. Along with taking advantage of their extensive knowledge of spring design, we have used all of their performance options available during design, production and finishing processes. They are a true no compromise product with all performance options applied.

The first race outing was at Leogang where the springs completely eliminated the issues riders were having using coil shocks, a lot of bikes will force riders to use a higher spring rate than needed to prevent harsh bottoming, but at the sacrifice of initial travel suppleness and ideal sag. Many riders will then use an air shock due to their inherently progressive nature to remedy the issues. Our new Progressive Shock Spring immediately solved all issues and allowed riders to use the correct spring rate for sag, initial suppleness was preserved, and the bike dealt with big hits with zero bottoming issues. This really allowed the riders to have the ideal set up for grip, comfort, and perfect support deep in the travel. Anyone who has tried them has been blown away with how much better they are over a stock coil or air shock. In the last week we have had a World Cup podium finishing factory rider use our Progressive Shock Spring during a test day, and he commented on how it has completely changed the bike, giving him the exact set up and feeling he's been chasing all year and failing to find by going back and forth between coil and air. All riders have commented on how much easier it is to push harder and faster without the bike feeling like it has no more to give.
