Make sure your bike shop is near and has relatively high volumes of stock.
Bosch are probably the best, Giant/yamaha fine.
Spesh/brose are a complete disaster, but will get you a new motor very fast.
Shimano went from the most reliable motor with the e8000 to a problematic one with the EP8, they just refreshed the motor so we don't really know its reliability so far.
bosch is your best bet, Their warranty support is excellent.
the EP8 and for the SL's the fazua are having reliability issues and in shimano case, warranties are also taking ages.
