What is the stiffest casing, what is the most pinch resistant tire?

Have only been on them for 2 weeks, but the Vittoria Mazza's which Vital rated very highly last year have a pretty interesting construction, there is clearly a layer of very stiff material in the side walls. I'm quite optimistic these will hold up for a while. (I am on the e-mazza which is effectively their second heaviest carcass, ~1250g for a 27.5 2.6 tyre).

Have found the Mazza Enduro casing on the rear to hold up really well (but I'm a light weight ). Avoid the trail casing as a rear as it is not nearly as durable. Managed to pinch flat and then punch a hole in the trail casing in a single ride.

I found the compound of the Enduro casing pretty squirmy for a rear tire as well. I think the standard 4C out back is the way to go and maybe even a Martello over the Mazza if you're on primarily hardpack.

20240316 140051.jpg?VersionId=BawRqmhm4Ended up getting another flat and that was enough.  Went to buy from a local shop.  First two shops didn't have anything in a downhill casing.  Third one had a couple of good options.  Ended up going with a Maxxis High Roller 2 27.5 2.4 Maxx grip 3c TR Downhill casing.  Casing is WAY stiffer than my old exo+.  I could almost put the exo+ on without levers, I was worried about breaking my plastic leavers putting the downhill casing on...thats what I was looking for though.  Took two laps on the new tire.  No flats no issues.  Wish I could have found a harder compound....but such is life.  Kinda dumb that my dirtbike tires are cheaper than my MTB tires.

Nice! Welcome to the downhill casing gang. Hope that works a lot better for you. The hard compound/downhill casing tires are kind of like four leaf clovers, so I know I've never seen one in a bike shop (other than one time at a bike park). The good news is that, since you have a soft compound rear tire, you'll have the chance to replace it sooner rather than later. And yes, buying bike tires at full retail is intensely painful.
