New member of VitalMTB, long time memeber of VitalMX.

Anyway...

Just got a Giant Anthem this week just to do some XC riding. Being new to the sport just want to know what most guys take with them on long rides.

Would be nice to get some input.

Welcome.

The bare essentials (for me):
- Camel back
- Spare tube
- Pump
- Food of some variety
- Multi tool (w/ chain tool and full range of 2.5-8mm allens)
- A few zip ties
- Spare derailleur hanger

glad to have you here! always good to see some crossover between mx and mtb. as for longer rides, i'll bring a tube, patch kit and mini pump along with a multi-tool (i have a crank bros tool). depending on length, i'll fill my resevoir with water accordingly and will bring a bar or 2 and maybe some gu or shot things too. i should have a first aid kit, but i don't right now.

TLD Gloves, shorts and Shirt.

Camelback
Tyre Irons
Tube
Shimano Shoes
