Any comparison with the Forbidden Dreadnought? It has only 6mm less travel (154 vs.160mm) but definitely is on par with the Spartan Maybe a full on 2021 Hi-Pivot only enduro bikes comparison/review is in order, since there are more such frames available now (Forbidden, Devinci, Norco, Cannondale, GT, etc.)?!

The rear triangle is another thing I’d be surprised to see complaints about, I bet the majority would prefer aluminum with 148 over carbon 157.

I switched over for a few reasons but the biggest one (kinda personal) is that I’ve come to terms with needing to not hit as much high consequence stuff anymore after a couple bad TBIs in recent years. The Dreadnought is perfect for someone who mostly rides park, shuttles, big hits/steep high consequence tech. It climbs fine for “what it is” but it’s not a very enjoyable everyday bike for tamer local trails. The Prime is a super efficient and comfortable climber, and plenty capable enough for most of what I’m riding these days. It’s incredibly playful too. I still...

New Norco Range carbon 170mm enduro 29er bike, with dual crown forks, proper baptism of fire!!! Took the hits like a champ. Hope the bike, hi-pivot & linkage doesn't disintegrate by the end of the race! Talk about 1% edge case testing.

Nope, actually took a link out because there was still some play. Shifts/rides/compresses as intended. Frame size is a medium, allegedly you can even run a single chain WITH the original guide on a Small frame.

Just wondering if the regular chain (i.e up to 126 links) is too stretched with that setup, due to the 30mm of rearward axle path the bike's suspension gets in full compression/bottom out scenarios? Resulting as such in premature wear and/or contact of the chain with obstacles, in between the bb area and tire, like going over roots, rocks, etc?

No issues, you only need to use 1 chain with this guide. The e13 guide “pinches” too much and requires more than 126 links in most scenarios. *edit* And the only friction/noise heard is from the idler pulley but there are aftermarket options to resolve that. The noise is only noticeable on the stand in the absence of other noises.

The stock e13 created noticeable drag and additional noise in the drivetrain on my Druid. Replaced with the MRP and it is smooth as silk now. No problems with chain retention with the MRP.

DAYUM!!! Awesome build. Can't wait to get my DS9 Dreadnought, hopefully this month! How come you opted for a MRP SXg lower guard and not the e13 custom chainguide+roller for this bike? Any issues with chain retention/friction/noise?

Smooth operator, ready for Mortal Kombat on the Athenian mountains! PS. I would only add a chain-guide for added protection of the BB underneath.
