Some folks on MTBR are talking about the Ibis Ripmo V3 dropping on 7/16. Anyone know if this is true? I hope its able to be setup as a solid enduro basher and not made into something too light. Who knows!

105 Nm and 120 Nm with boost, 800w battery at around 20 kg bike. It's kind of insane. What were the rest doing?

I chatted with some Commencal folks at MSA and they stated the new bike would drop this fall and they would have web pre orderers at that point but deivery would be spring 2023.

10-4! I have always been a tinker type and took the plunge about 2 months ago and bought this exact system. I have a good number of runs on my local New England trails. From short DH runs on home trails to rowdy runs in North Conway, NH. The biggest thing that it has helped with seeing how far too slow I was running low speed rebound and compression on my float X2. I was letting the slow speed setting and parking lot test sort of feel dictate how I was setting up my bike. I was using low speed...

A single 2 hour plus ride with tons of short switchbacks and up and downs all over a place called Bent Creek. I fully understand that you might can figure out when to guess to pre-shift that tranny, but no one actually knows for sure exactly when they need to shift. You can successfully actively pedal and downshift on any modern drivetrain EXCEPT this one. I didn't say "Nobody buy it". You wanna ride or race on that tranny and guess the right upshift before you need it without putting pressure on the pedals, go for it. Sure, I got...

Good question. Both the Transition and Orbea displayed similar handling traits with excellent calm cornering manners, but only in the slackest setting on the Orbea. Interestingly, the Orbea was launched with a larger offset and then they switched to the shorter one later on. Be aware that it's not very clear cut, however, as a lot of variables play into steering geometry. When Transition launched their new SBG bikes, we got in touch with engineers from both FOX and RockShox who had been playing with this for a while on a variety of bikes. You can read their thoughts here...

Totally agree, tires need to be normalized as rear shocks. It's tough to compare coil shock bikes to air shock bikes. The ratings are all over the place as well. They rate the very linear suspension Orbea as a better jumper than the progressive Evil. The same shootout would be great with the same tires, forks and shocks to start. That should be an easier one to make happen. This is a great review and hopefully more are to come!
