I think current flat pedals with proper concavity and pins, coupled with "stealth" rubber or similar high friction soles have closed the gap considerably. The above test didnt prove anything in my opinion. The clipless vs flats debate is just too rider subjective. I prefer clipless because i like that connected feeling to the bike, especially in the rough, i dont worry as much about my feet coming off the pedals. I also read somewhere that flats rider body position is alittle more rearward biased, and i like riding more neutral or slightly forward of neutral.

1 time i did with valve last, and the whole thing blew a hole in sidewall because it got tangled, all the tubes i have done i do valve first, and not a single time in 10 years something has gone wrong. If you have a little bit too much air in tube then the tire will not seat properly if you start with valve, basically if you do things right it doesn't care where you start and end seating a tire.
