When it came time to squeeze a bit more out of my current bike (Santa Cruz Nomad) I knew I wanted to change the stock Rock Shock Super Deluxe air shock for a coil shock. I wanted better downhill performance on a budget. I bought the shock, found a spring rate Fox / Marzocchi recommended and tossed the shock on my bike. It's a 27.5. I'm not the one riding it, it's my son's bike but he's very happy with the DPX2, He always bottomed out the stock re:active shock. It's a tight fit for the DPX2, but with offset bushings it's just fine.

The Monarch Plus here is 3mm longer than the stock shock's eye to eye (200mm vs 197), so I used two offset bushing to counteract the geometry change. No issues with clearance, and it works very well.
