A2C can vary due to their use of coil springs for the negative spring. Pump in air for a very light rider and you get a shorter A2C; pump in air for a very heavy rider and you get a longer A2C. It's more honest and accurate to say +/- 5mm, to ensure there's no dramatic social media/forum firestorm about lying about A2C, when it's actually measured/compared by consumers.
