PlunderPath667 Started a new thread Linkglide compatible with SRAM?
1/25/2024 7:32pm I asked around, googled, and couldn’t get a definitive answer. Maybe one of you all know? Is Linkglide (sp. 11sp) compatible with SRAM shift indexes? I’m guessing it’s gotta be, but 27.5 wasn’t a thing yet when I last wrenched in bike shops. I have been blowing through SRAM xg-1175 cassettes every two months and it’s been costing me a...

PlunderPath667 Added a reply to Cycling (buy and sell) Listing Site thoughts (want to build)
11/30/2022 5:41pm I’ve sold a ton of bikes and gears over the years - but these days I just don’t have time to go through all the steps, so I end up letting brand new sweet gear sit until it becomes obsolete (also very little time to ride). I’m less price conscious because right now it’s just sitting there taking space. So...

6/1/2021 8:28pm Unfortunate to see GT bringing the top tube way down, but still keeping the seat tube length longer than the reach. New transition aluminum bikes are really exciting to look at. I hope there’s an aluminum Scout 150 coming soon that is basically a modern update of the V1 Patrol.

4/13/2021 1:42pm What if Devinci is onshoring their carbon frame manufacturing, and contracting with WR1 as their supplier? Given current price inelasticity of high end mtb, it would probably be a pretty compelling biz case even if prices increase 30%. I would pay 30% more for a made in NA frame that holds a large water bottle inside the front triangle.

4/7/2021 8:24am I absolutely agree - best riding DH bike I ever owned was my 08 DHR. It gave me my best summer of riding ever, and I still think back to that bike and that summer whenever I’m having an awful day. Congrats - she’s a beaut.

10/16/2020 12:51pm The real news here is that Bulldog is firmly mid-pack in Pro after the biggest recovery from injury that I know of in DH MTB. That, to me, is absolutely incredible!!!

9/3/2020 11:11am Kind of fun to think about is the meeting where they decided to use the Bontrager name instead of the Trek name for their tool storage solution.

8/30/2020 10:42am @primoz I am thankful that you took my comment at face value instead of perceiving sarcasm. Too many bikes these days have Reach numbers that are longer than their seat tube lengths just to accommodate baggy pants and unrestrained male genitalia. I am so happy to see the Furgler uses a 520ST with a 463Reach. Strap up your boys, boys! Long live Furgler

5/16/2020 8:11am Just curious, what is the as-is bottom bracket height? 16”? Fun looking bike, brings me back to a good time in my riding history.

5/5/2020 3:03pm As the first poster to make a “Sub-2000” reference... I was not stating the build as pictured would be sub-2000, but rather that I think another good geometry full suspension bike that has builds starting under 2000 (in the spirit of the original Status) would be a good product position for a big company like Specialized to target. I also...

5/3/2020 10:49pm I always really liked those. In 2002, I bought my first real bike - a brand new Norco VPS Shore with the super dialed 2002 Monster T. That bike was a little heavier and the geo more outdated, but was part of the same thread of pedal-able dual crown aggressive trail bikes. I podiumed some races on that bike -...

5/3/2020 10:30pm New bike from specialized With some top riders and guerilla marketing strategy. #statusmtb on IG. Can tell it’s a specialized from the heat tube/down tube junction, linkage, stays, and everyone on IG has Butcher tires. Looks to be a dedicated mullet setup. Would be pretty great if Specialized made a play against the YT/Canyon with a B2C sub-2000 all-arounder with...

3/9/2020 2:29pm I believe it’s mostly to help you get a spring rate between offered rates; I.e. if fox offers a 400# and 450#, then this would give you a 425#. This also allows for tuning on days where you want more sag (loose over hardpack) or less sag (bomb holes or carrying a heavy pack / constipation).

3/4/2020 10:50am Yeah - just the vehicle speed and longer stroke would make me think at least 4-5x higher, with an off-road (Baja, XC, Dakar) maybe being 10-15x higher. Not to mention, mountain bike wheels are so much larger and mountain bikes so much lighter (more vertical deflection) that I would imagine mtb wheels skip over the top of a lot more...
