Oz_Taylor Added a comment about press release Polygon Bikes Releases The New XQUARONE DH Series
8/8/2018 11:49pm It looks absolutely wild, but who wants to pedal a dh bike uphill when modern enduro bikes are so good? In my opinion, a dh bike is a tool for a specific job. Going downhill from point a to point b in a short time. If getting down as fast as possible isn't your goal, you don't need a dh bike. There are plenty of other more versatile options out there.

7/12/2018 3:00pm I'm going for Laurie this week. Too much pressure on Pierron maybe.

Oz_Taylor Added a comment about slideshow STARING FEAR IN THE FACE - Val di Sole World Cup Downhill Photos and Racer Interviews
7/6/2018 5:05am Really enjoy listening to Troy these days. In the past everything was about 'having fun' but nowadays he's super mature, relaxed, complimentary of other riders, and gives really great insights into his weekend. Great job Vital! Loving the rider interviews this year.

7/4/2018 11:50pm Don't tell me, they've given the Boom Boom Huck some corporate name like the 4MATIC Gap. They would park a pickup next to it if they could.

7/4/2018 11:30pm Though Moir isn't riding this weekend? Looking forward to seeing him back though. My money has to be on Pierron this weekend. The kid's on a roll.

6/8/2018 1:57am Thanks for the awesome coverage but please bring back the slideshow. Grab a coffee, hit play, then sit back and relax and soak up the world cup. Scrolling and reading just isn't the same.

6/7/2018 1:53am Lighter might not be better if you need to maintain momentum, nor is shorter travel. It's not a pedally track, momentum is key, and there are some rooty/gnarly wooded sections that suit a DH bike. If there are cross winds on the jumps i'd rather be on a heavier bike with smaller wheels. That Stumpy will be like a sail.

6/7/2018 1:50am I agree. Leogang is always great to watch live. Also last year the new open section was pretty gnarly when all the roots came through. Not sure I'd want to hit that on a 120mm travel bike.

6/7/2018 1:42am I can't remember any occasion where a rider has switched bikes for a single world cup event and gone on to win it. Yeah Sam Hill did well in Cairns, as did Jared in PMB, but those were the bikes they raced all season. Surely it's better to stick to what you are familiar with. I'm fully expecting Gwin to smoke them all on his Tues anyway :-)

6/6/2018 11:47pm Specialized want to push the Stumpy. This is no more than the marketing guys having it their way. 'We won't be at too much of a disadvantage' says Loic. That pretty much sums it up. He'd rather be on his DH bike. Let's not forget that this race was won without a chain, so having a light bike that pedals well isn't really an advantage. A heavier bike with more suspension that maintains momentum over rough ground and jumps is way more important. It's obvious that Loic and Specialized have written off the overall title for this year after his...

5/31/2018 11:07pm Anyone else wonder why these top teams use clear protection on the frames? It's unlikely these frames will be sold on.

Oz_Taylor Added a reply to Eliot Jackson Getting Nerdy with World Cup Stats
5/30/2018 12:33am Ah the classic 'present a completely extreme example' in order to discredit someone else's reasonable opinion. Roots and Rain isn't Myspace and Eliot's site isn't Facebook. Slightly ironic that Facebook wasn't Zuck's idea, but anyway... I really like what Eliot has done. I think the stats are really well presented with a really great overview in the side bar. I...
