Mark Matthews' Marin Quake 2
Parts
General Info
After 14 years, the Marin Quake is back as a dedicated DH, park, and freeride machine. I’ve spent nearly two years testing prototypes with the team, helping refine it into the bike it is today.
The 2025 Quake keeps the original’s 180mm rear travel but now runs a Horst-link suspension instead of Quad Link. The production model comes with a 200mm dual-crown fork but can also be set up with a 180mm or 190mm single crown, making it a versatile beast for big-mountain riding!
I’m running mullet NOBL TR38 rims on Hope Pro 5 hubs. I’m familiar with the durability of the TR38s on big hits and went for a new-to-me choice with the Hope Pro 5 hubs. I’m attracted to their high engagement, minimal drag, and excellent seals, perfect for the wet conditions here in coastal BC! The matching purple hubs, spoke nipples, and chrome decals tie everything together with my bike’s theme.
