Its always fun when few friends stop by. The glory of living near a trial head. Cant count the number of bikes build out of this fun house. Thats my 5 year old changing his own flat. Never to young to start!

A little slacker would be nice but its amazing how it rides. I do smack pedals every blue moon on rutted climbs but worth the low bb. Let me know how the spacers work out. Go 140 if your going to run spacers.

Thanks. Im still loving it but may go 140 on the front in the future. I haven't tried a 2.4. But to be honest on the 30mm ID rim they look like the same size? So I just measured them with calipers and the 2.4 is 1/16" wider (at the casting not the tread, at the tread they are the same?) and 1/16 taller. Plenty of room on the width for clearance but only about a 1/8 on the height with the 2.25 so it may be an issue there? The vigilante is a bit smaller and I have seen...

So you could run the rear as some sort of spin-on fixie? Seems it would reduce unsprung weight and allow for a stronger freewheel and wheel. You could have larger bearings in the rear and you would not need to make the freewheel so micro for the front ring. Could be a winner. But It could go bad real fast...

I would be interesting to do a comparison with and without a dropper post. When I recommend them to riders they say "oh they weigh too much". How much time can you make up on the decent not to mention how much more confident you are when fatigued at a mere 1/2 lb gain. Curious.
