First of all, this is fantastic news from Santa Cruz. I'd also like to say I've never wanted a chainsaw as much as now after seeing the Santa Cruz colored one above.

One not mentioned I listen to is Front Lines MTB, a podcast solely focused on advocacy for trail access... or in their words: " A Podcast for the people that truly make mountain biking happen. Not the riders, racers, or product designers but the builders, advocates and the often forgotten Board Members of your local Mountain Bike Trail Association."

I love Santa Cruz for doing this kind of stuff. As a Californian I've seen the bike raffles and etc they've done for their local area and other areas, e.g. CA areas impacted by wildfires. There's a lot of talk from riders about wanting more access, better trails, etc. but very few are willing to consistently donate time and/or money. The same also goes for a lot of LBS'. The sitting around complaining but not willing to do anything frustrates me about this sport (and a lot of things in life). Good on Santa Cruz and the other mtb companies...

Leadville is a hardtail race IMO. I’ve raced it twice, second on HT, and don’t personally believe rear suspension is justified (at least 2 of the top 3 times all time were done on hardtails) and if the rider feels strongly about rear suspension the SB100 leans the wrong direction, ie toward a trail bike vs XC race bike. All that said, again it’s a great bike with a seriously sweet build and if you only have one bike this would certainly be better than what I chose my first time at Leadville and might be better for the rider...
