Hey guys- I was the lead engineer on this shock. If you have any questions- fire away. Edit- this was in response to earlier posts: It is not SPV, and SPV did not perform like this. Yes we tried to make descend mode to behave like a shim damper- that curve feels best for descending.

Mr. P Added a comment about feature Formula 1 Meets Mountain Biking in Trek's New RE:aktiv Suspension

Thanks Dave! Does the damping require a certain amount of pressure build up for oil to start flowing to the active state? Or is oil always active, and when pressure builds up, it allows more flow? Did you have to retune a rebound to match? One last one, the damping is digressive, and the air spring in linear, is deep travel/bottoming a concern? P

Mr. P Added a comment about feature First Look: Shimano XTR Di2 Electronic Shifting for MTB

5/30/2014 9:26am
This is cool and all, but do we really need this extra complication? And for what benefit? Shifting is so good these days, I rarely miss a shift. And races aren't won or lost on the speed of a shift. I love you Shimano for your great shifty bits. But batteries and motors and displays... I'd rather they stay out of the woods on my rides. P

There is another side of the coin - the company side. MTB companies must create new products, technology, and improved performance that no one else can at that time. As those products will then be duplicated by other companies and completely copied in China, produced for a much lower cost, piggy-back on the previous company's marketing, and effectively undercut the...

Mr. P Added a comment about feature It's Official! Specialized Goes 650B with Stumpjumper EVO Models

Specialized invested in the latest technology coolaid bath. Looks like it's working. I would love some geo numbers. I love Specialized geo, notably the short stays. And that bendy seat tube points towards shorties! 16.5? P

davetrumpore Liked a product review First Ride: Guerilla Gravity MEGATRAIL

3/26/2014 12:00pm
by Dave Trumpore We recently had a chance to visit the folks at Guerrilla Gravity in Denver, Colorado for a tour of the shop and to take a look at their newest trail bike project, the Megatrail. In a day and age where most manufacturing, welding, and assembly happens far overseas, it was quite refreshing to see the inner workings of a more homegrown operation right here in our backyard. Guerrilla Gravity truly keeps it local by doing all of the work in house. The only exception being the CNC bits that are contracted out, but even those are produced...

Mr. P Added a comment about press release Dan Atherton Will Miss EWS Round 1 Due To Injury

3/24/2014 1:33pm
No kidding. These racers have my full respect. And as good as the Enduro format looks, it seems almost like DH racing - on trail bikes - with a bunch a fatigue piled on top. Then throw in minimal practice rounds... Enduro roulette. P
