Alexptdmg Liked a comment about Press Release Full Details Released: Specialized's Brand New Enduro

I just finished building my Sworks last week, and with everything carbon that you can get, my S2 is at 32lbs with 2.5 EXO tires. Run it with real tires for races, and this would make it 34 already. An alloy version with a full pounds in frame and the 0.6 lbs in the rocker (cause non sworks) would make a 36 + lbs bike, and that s S2. I know weight is not all, but if you plan to pedal that bike, it s nice not to have the dh bike weight. It s a huge travel bike obviously...

The SLASH platform is still the Benchmark. It's within 1.1 seconds of the fastest Rallon on a 2:20min course. Toss a 2.5WT DHF Minion on the Slash instead of the weak XC tires that come with it and it will take the win. Throw on a Coil shock or an X2 on the Slash and give it a decent fork like a Performance Elite or Lyrik RCT3 and it will still be cheaper and lighter than the Orbea or Evil and pull ahead even more.

I have a 2018 Slash Frameset and I feel it climbs just as well as my previous 2015 Remedy 29er with the thrushaft shock. However I have a dual position lyrik up front so when you lower it to 130mm, the BB drops to 335mm ish and the HT drops down to about 66 deg and it kind of gets transformed from an Enduro bike to more of a trail bike. You can tune a Dual Position Lyrik with Volume spacers (I have 3 in mine) but don't think you can with a Talas so reviews of that fork on...

Great Review but wish you had similar tires and similar spec bikes. Some bikes have PUSH coil shocks and Fox factory forks and Meaty Downhill tires like the DHF while other have lower end Fox Performance (not even Performance Elite) forks and Trail tires (Bontrager SE4).
