Basically the last guy that went out of frame clipped his handlebars on the handrail, which resulted in him going off course and heading directly for the crowd. I was the unfortunately the first one that he wanted to say Hello to with his bike & body. Black eye, bruised hip/stomach/ego, but thankfully no broken camera gear.

In my defense, this was the 3rd attempt. Attempt #1: went a little nose heavy and came up short, but rode away. Attempt #2: went way too slow but pulled up plenty. Attempt #3: my buddy Tom the camera man says "just go a ton faster". The rest is history.

Man I went for the glory on that one too! After that concussion at Bolton Valley I hung up my racing shoes and never raced again. Probably a good thing.
