Maybe...but if I were Gwin, or his sponsor Shimano, I sure wouldn't want to bash the product due to an "inexplicable", high publicity failure if that's not what actually happened. That doesn't look good for the sponsor at all, and Gwin hasn't been shy about saying he just 'blew it' in the past. Just sayin

Watching the front end wash like that reminded me of Neko's crash at MSA... Maybe those prototype Bontrager tyres could use alittle more knob onthe shoulders... Either way Gwin is a beast, getting up and finishing when he's a protected rider. Good Luck on Sunday Aaron.

No kidding - every venue is in Europe except MSA. Nothing against Europe, but come on - throw us a bone. Just for that, I hope Gwin sweeps it and Neko, Rude, Strobel, Warren and Jackson (and every other US rider) all start crushing the top 20 and creep into the top 10 - not that I wouldn't root for that anyway.

I love seeing big bikes for FMB events - it really mixes it up and shows the true MTB nature of it - something that is undeniably unique and different from BMX and MX. And, to me, big bikes doing huge sh!t - a la rampage - is just freaking cool if you ask me. Not only do you have to be able to throw down tricks, you have to be able to just get to the bottom. More!

As an attorney I would say your analysis is exactly correct. The rule does not allow the Commiss to make a judgment to *not* DQ a rider under any circumstances - it only allows the Commiss to DQ a rider. Nor does the rule allow the Commiss to *not* DQ a rider for "no advantage gained" where a rider exits and re-enters at a different point - the decision appears to conflict with the rule on two counts. Under the rule, the Commiss may only DQ a rider if an advantage was gained as a result of exiting and re-entering...

I'm stoked to see the WC at Windham, especially since it's so close to NYC and the extremely densely populated northeast. That said, there are longer tracks in the northeast, like Whiteface, Mt. Snow, and others. That said again, I have nothing against a shorter track in the first place...
