I knew I had picked an interesting sport when I first met Mr. Matt Thompson. Well, actually, this was before we formally met but as a grom, I knew who he was. Ha...Can you make Butterman do the math so I can learn how far of a free fall that is...ignoring the coefficient of friction of course.

So cool. I bet that bike has seen some fun...Oh, and I believe those are the pedals that ended my prospects as a leg model.

Mike, no disrespect was intended. You have illustrated our confusion perfectly. Both Angelfire, NM and Winter Park, CO have well built trails that are well over 1000 vertical feet (actually, 2000 vertical feet). Jackson's bike park, although a great start, is nowhere near this length. Laps are well under 2 minutes and the total vertical is somewhere around 300 feet...
As a Jackson resident we can genuinely say "we're confused". We have a bike park but its all of 300 vertical feet. Maybe less. There is awesome stuff on the pass for an event like this but no way would the Forest Service allow it nor would the trails handle that sort of traffic. We are awaiting word from JHMR...
