Well, the density of the fiber is quite independent of the resin/fiber ratio. I would guess Schmolke use pre-impregnated fibers to achieve such a low weight. This requires autoclave curing and expensive fabrics. But the resin content is pre-set. Usually up to 60% by weight. Higher density carbon are usually comes in thinner fabrics with less grams per square meter (GSM), resulting in a fabric with mech. props. closer to the theoretical values. But I also sort of agree, a higher resin content will yield a product with sligthly higher strain-to-failure values off the fiber axis. Just my ten (geeky)...
