I still have a Torker Pro 24" / torker rigid fork, with flight cranks, ACS Z rims+hubs, TuF Neck stem, Comp 3 tires... I got this in 1984 just as I switched from full time BMX to skateboarding. The bike wasn't used that much but it's still as fun as ever. I ride it to the store with my nephew...

My pedal history - 1977-1994 flats 1994-2009 clipless 2009 - now flats! The 26 pedals are the shizz. This is on mostly NE singletrack with tons of steep twisty climbs. And yes I do get looks too, but the lookers are a bunch of EMS kooks anyways.

Haha I remember those stumpjumpers, my Klein Pulse is still kicking it too. And out here in the North East some of the old guys are bad to the bone! I don't feel any safer on a FS bike, it actually just makes me go faster.

I skateboard too and it definitely beats on your shoes, but I was kinda shocked by how bad MTBing with flat pedals/pins thrashed my shoes haha. With MTBing in certain skate shoes my soles came completely off the shoe after like 6 weeks. My Emericas and Lakais both fell apart, but my super thin Vans eras did not. The Vans are still my fav for both skating and MTBing. Before flat pedals I rode clipless for a long time but said screw that when I tried the 26 pedals.

For north east XC trail riding SC BlurXC 69, for mostly down stuff Banshee Rune 67. Need two bikes really out here. The Rune is a tank going up.

Sick video. Oakley was the shit. I still have a couple of pair of Ame and some donuts in boxes somewhere. What the hell is it about grips anyway? For some f'd reason I can remember putting on some grips in my mom's garage in like 1982 clear as day. It's like a time machine taking me back to like 9am, can smell the summer air, the hairspray, everything is awesome. Some other hot grips were Grab-Ons and Mushrooms.
