First, what serious cyclist doesn't need to service their headset within 5 years? Hell, I have to do mine one every 5 months due to dirt ingress in semi desert like conditions after some good smashing. Also, if anything goes wrong with that brake system you're totally fucked. Smash your bar? Brakes are fucked. Have a crash and cut your line when the headset spins around to far? Brakes are fucked. Road trip you've spent a bunch of money on? No way a shop can fit it in quick to get you going again because it's an hours long job...

10/14/2022 11:09am how about when all shifters/droppers are electronic, master cylinders are in the bars, no cables are seen. Then the only thing routed thru the headset is the brake line which you wont touch for 5 years? That may not be too bad...

I’ve always thought that it would be great to have the final EWS stage run like a DH race with live split times and video coverage, that way spectators will have a better chance of following the action and create (hopefully) a little suspense and excitement at the venue.

At one point it seemed to be pretty common to see a small-ish percentage of WC DH riders and every-day park riders rocking a Leatt or similar neck brace. Now that I'm on the other side of 40 but still wanting to hit the bike park every now and then, my mind is wondering a.) if I should dust mine off for park days, but also b.) why we don't see them anymore on the WC circuit. Sidenote: It's been 7+ years since I've used my Leatt, do these have a shelf life like bike helmets? I would assume not...*shrug*

But, then you got one and realized they got in the way more then they helped and I think that is why people stopped wearing them. maybe a bit off topic, but in the pb comments someone mentioned some disgruntlement in the syndicate as peaty being absent the last couple races and the riders seem split up during track walks. anyone got any insight? also they mentioned that greg seems to only be concerned with safety on some features if it benefits him which rubs some riders the wrong way as he‘s their representative.
