i've not once had a single issue with Canyon service. if anything theyve gone above and beyond for me.

That sucks but I learned the hard way that no matter how big the brand their "international warranty" isn't going to cover you if you move accross the world. I bought a Giant reign in 2008 during a holiday to Canada, got an amazing deal on it. A few years later the lower maestro link broke and I could not find a shop in Ireland that would treat it under warranty. I would say in many cases unless you know how the distributor works or go with a big franchise type shop, you will only have good long term warranty...
