That's the problem with single crown forks. The longer the travel the worst it gets. It's why I only ride dual crown forks.

What size frame is he running? I am guessing it isn't an XL even though he is tall enough for it. Also missed what pressure he runs on his front tyre. I do find it weird he runs the same pressure front and back on his freeride setup given wheelsize is different... Interesting that the 2021 fox40 now comes with different crown offsets.

I weigh 60kg/132lb and I prefer a stiffer fork which is why I don't run a single crown fork. I have had a Yari and a 36 and can say the flex under braking is terrible! From the reviews I have read the new 38 and Zeb aren't much better. I will stick to my Dorado for now.

Results decide whether or not you are the GOAT. Greg Minnaar has most wins because a) he is a great rider and b) because he has been around the longest. Gwin has acheived more in a shorter amount of time. Vouilloz achieved even more and then retired at 25! Opinions have little to do with it.Peaty as the former GOAT...

How is Greg Minnaar the GREATEST OF ALL TIME? Because he has 22 world cup wins? He doesn't have the most world championships nor the most worldcup overalls! Aaron Gwin has 5 overalls and so does Nicolas Vouilloz. Bruni has the same number of world championships as Greg and Nicolas Vouilloz has 5 more or 7 if you count the...

It isn't a model year if they come out with a 2020 bike a 2021 bike and a new 2021 bike all in the space of a year. It's the same model the DH one but with different geo, kinematics, spec and colours!

You claimed that Commencal hadn't stopped making model year bikes. I disagree and gave the example of their DH bike. Yes they still put up year numbers but there is a 2020 model, a 2021 model a NEW 2021 model etc. Thus it is only year model on paper not in real life.

The GOAT hasn't ridden in competition for a few year now due to getting cancer twice... You must be talking about the wannabee GOAT Greg Minnaar who has a LONG LONG WAY to go to even catch ACC. He ISN'T even the GOAT of DH in the men's category!

You are over reacting. RAW is a video without editing end of story. Vital RAW is awesome and still better than pinkbike's or Redbull's Raw footage.

I agree with you on the keeping to 11 speed instead of 12 for money and smaller cassettes and derailleurs are lighter and less prone to getting damaged. That said for where I live a 30/50 gear ratio isn't enough. Since there aren't 60tooth cogs yet I have to run a 22/32 chainrings with a 15-52 cassette (11 speed cut...

I run Maxxis Assegai 27.5x2.5 dual compound EXO tires which with the small knobs cut off for better mud clearance. They weigh around 1000g. I then run the tubolite s-tubo 27.5x1.8/2.4 which can be used with a valve extension. I make a hole in the part of the cushcore insert right above the valve hole. They tube sits above the...

Best change in the last few years was going to inserts and lighter tires. Started out with Schwalbe Procore and am now on Cushcore with tubolite tubes (thus avoiding the whole sealant mess). Now I adjust my tire pressure to the terrain I ride not to a number I know will reduce the chance I get a punture or dent...

Strange that you say that about the Assegai. I have found it corners better than my previous allround favorite the Magic Mary. I do find the Assgai to be more of a dry weather tire. I did cut out the small side/middle knobs so mud would clear better. Of course, when conditions are softer than I recommend the WTB Verdict...

Fred_Pop Added a reply to 2.5 VS 2.6 Tires

10/11/2020 9:42pm
Seeing as that 2.5 is probably not a WT tyre and actually measures 2.3-2.4in there is a much bigger difference. Bigger tyre is better on rocky terrain but not necessarily in the conditions you mentioned (assuming same carcass of course) i.e. bigger tyre will flex more. As for compounds obviously the softer compound will grip better in those conditions (though...
