The short 150mm OneUp dropper on this frame looks weird, doesn't it? Some day I will swap it out for something longer. If my measurements are correct, it can easily fit a 210mm dropper for my saddle height of 680mm.
At the top of the climb. The Ground Control tires surprised me with its grip. The light weight made for some easy climbing.

The Shimano M8000 drivetrain will be replaced by a SRAM GX unit, maybe in a few months.
With just 7.25 inches of steer tube to work with, my shortest stack stem was a little above the steer tube. So I bought a DMR Defy 50 stem with its short 31mm stack height. With a 5mm spacer underneath, the top of the stem and steer tube were flush. The cap height provided just enough compression.
Previously, I used an ANVL stem with a Oneup carbon handlebar. I showed this to a bike mechanic. He said, "If this were my bike, I would ride it as is. If this were a customer's bike, I would advise that customer to buy a new fork or a shorter-stack stem." Can someone pease tell me what this even mean?

This steel hardtail is so compliant and comfortable that I can ride for hours and still feel refreshed. This thing fits me like a glove. It should because the designer of the frame Hardtail Party Steve and I share a similar body type. I am 5-8 with the arms and legs of an alligator, and the torso of a Kodiak bear. Because of the long head tube (130mm on a 15-inch frame), you need at least 190mm (7.5 inches) of steer tube to comfortably fit a stem with an average stack height.
