4/29/2024 9:23am YT just sent an email out about new Tues. Said the old one isn't coming back (was on email list for restock) and that a new one is launching on May 2nd. Also included a dark picture of new one and it basically looks just like old one but more modern.

Honestly feel bad factory riders have to run that awful gold fork. Looks terrible on 95% of bikes.

Long story short: "There's a lot more going on that Crankworx isn't sharing on social media or press releases, but I'm not going to go into it" This video hasn't done anything to make me feel more sympathetic towards the athletes. Absolutely make sure the athletes have a voice when it comes to course safety and impact of weather/etc on the event. No one will ever convince me it's the event's responsibility to ensure athletes are able to participate (ie - travel and accommodations) and will never think an appearance fee is a reasonable ask as long as it remains...

3/25/2024 1:13pm I think one of the main talking points here is that is it worth it for their sponsors to shell out more money to the athletes. Are slopestyle athletes really providing that much of an ROI for mountain biking companies.

Looks like Crankworx was willing to play ball and met them on most their issues, and for the money one, they even made some adjustments for that. If there's no slopestyle contest, Crankworx is still a massive mountain bike festival that helps grow the sport, and all that changes is one event gone. 3/23/2024 8:27am Without knowing the specifics, I think it's hard to place blame on either side. We don't what the riders currently get and what they're asking for, and we don't know how profitable this event is and weather there really is a lot of money to throw out.
