Seconded on the Super Gravity Nobby Nic, it would be a great tire to have available! Also, as a couple people have said, a few more details for all us bike geeks would be great: How tall are both riders, and how much do they weigh, along with what size frame they're riding? Bar widths? How tall is that spacer stack on Adam's bike? Are they running ProCore? they both have a red sticker at the valve... And maybe most importantly, a bit more discussion of the choices they've made. Like why does Yoann choose to run a Nobby Nic...

David.Max Added a comment about product review Stumpjumper FSR

Fair answer too. Right after I wrote that I noticed that you had posted a review of the Commencal Meta and that it has a 460mm reach as well, making it pretty similar to the XL Nomad that I ride. As a taller rider with long limbs I'm really happy to see the trend towards longer reach numbers. Personally I'm curious to try some of the newer geometry bikes that are coming out with with 480mm + reach measurements for an XL as I still feel a bit cramped on my Nomad with a 50mm stem. Thanks again for all...

Gotta ask: As someone who is also 6'3" it seems like you have AJ reviewing bikes that are too small for him when you put him on large? I know the numbers vary from frame to frame, but as someone who has a similar build I can say that I would probably be happier on an XL with a shorter stem on both the Stumpjumper and the Smuggler. I'm glad that you have a tall guy in the test crew, but it seems like its hard to give your best opinion on a bike when you're likely riding something that...

I'd agree that a review of a handlebar and a stem is never going to be that exciting; they either do their job or they don't. That ElevenSix shock mounted to Lee's bike on the other hand, that would be a REALLY interesting review. I'm hopeful you guys tare easing for and upcoming review. If you do have a review in the works it would be great to have some timed runs on a couple different types of trails with ElevenSix going head to head with the Vivid Air. The ElevenSix has a pretty extravagant price and there have been...

It's an expensive cassette, but no more so than a XX1, and 9-44 would pretty much be an ideal 11 speed setup if the steps between the cogs aren't too abrupt. It would have an 489% range, meaning if you a ran a 30t chain ring and this cassette you'd essentially have the same range as someone running a 36/24 double with a 11/36 cassette. E13 have a winner on their hands if the chain wrap on the 9 tooth cog works out and the overall wear rate is reasonable. Make the aluminum portion of the cassette available separately as...

A review on this pedal would be great! I'd Love to know how it stacks up against the HT T1 that you just reviewed.

Thanks for the clarification. I understand the challenge of trying to maintain a degree of mystery around the tracks and coming up with format that doesn't require racers to be at the venue for weeks leading up to the race. I'm not sure that there is an easy answer, but hopefully they can come up with something that works. As a counterpoint, I would imagine that Leov was more familiar with the trails in Rotorua than many of the riders and he certainly had the opportunity to do extensive scouting and pre-riding if he wanted to take it. And thank...

I'm not sure how I feel about Leov's accusations of "sneaky practice". The fastest riders on stage 2 had a 10 second advantage over Leov's 4th place stage finish. On an 11 minute stage I don't feel this is really enough to throw around veiled accusations of cheating. If the mountain is open in the time leading up to the event and people want to put the time into riding the tracks they think might be a part of the race it's really they're prerogative. They are all professionals and all have the opportunity to show up early and ride...

Is Minnaar using the BuzzWorks headset and the custom linkage on the new XXL frame? I would have guessed that the new mold would have been long enough for him as it is...

Wondering if anyone can comment on why some riders might choose coil shocks and others air shocks. Is it just down to feel and personal preference? I know that air is a bit lighter than a coil, but I would figure that the improved small bump performance of a coil would more than make up for that... But then again Gwinn seems to be running the new Float X2 exclusively and its definitely working out for him

Anyone now what Minnaar was was talking about when he mentioned being able to follow his training in the audio for the 3rd photo? I heard questa.com, but I couldn't find anything on google.

Love your coverage, but please don't post the results in the headlines! I was planning on waiting for the video recap and letting the story unfold there.

David.Max Added a comment about bike check Santa Cruz Nomad 2015 - Hillside Cycling Enduro Edition

5/8/2015 2:20pm
How is the handling with the 40mm offset on the 350 NCR? I've been thinking about using that fork, but I'm a little worried about it slowing the handling down to much. For comparison's sake the Pike is a 42mm offset and the 36 is 44mm. Giant chose to use a custom 46mm offset Pike on the Reign which also has a long wheelbase and 65 degree head angle which seems like it might make sense on a bike with this geometry. I really wan to give the Marzocchi a try, but I'm not sure if it's the right choice...

David.Max Added a comment about feature The Elusiveness of Speed - Part One

Thanks for the great in depth article! Looking forward to part 2. It would be great to see an interview with someone from The Syndicate. Minnaar and Peat have both been on the WC circuit for a long time and they'd both have some interesting insights. Kathy Sessler has been there through it all and I'm sure she'd have some pretty interesting answers as well!
