@filthyanimal. Fundamentally, the utility of a road-like fit would be a logical starting point because of orthogonal power transfer, leg extension while seated, etc., but I think for mountain bikers there should be a few more considerations because of the very dynamic relationship between our core and the bike, and the fact that we spend a lot of time standing...

good constructive discussion going on here. unlike other mtb sites

i keed i keed. its definitely true that modern parts and geometry reflect popular riding styles and formats. I think the point that filthyanimal made in his first post - in terms of where the bars end up - is most relevant. I hope in the near future there...

In the 90s, DH racers used to have super high bars. makes sense because it's more comfortable and you can get farther back on steeps. Then in the aughts (early 2000s) everyone went to low or even no rise bars. I want to say mainly because it looked cool - mtn biking had it's second identity problem since the early...

Good times were had by all. The pics truly capture the laid back vibe and mellow race atmosphere. it really just felt like a huge organized ride. But please nobody ask about expert men results.. yeesh

hey dude. i have to say. normally i'm not too keen on 29ers (admittedly) or frames with curved/wavy lines, but this one really does impress me!! i'm not a convert yet but this build might tip the scale. and the build - wow. as a DHer with a XC and road background, i would mos def rock this for XC racing

Take note, bike manufacturers - this is what a press release is supposed to look like. Roskopp comes off like a cool and down-to-earth bike brand/team owner, and I'm sure that's the case in reality too. It's like working at a good company where no one is out to get someone. just ride, work, and everything will fall into place.
