Hmmm. That's an interesting thought study, the parallels between F1 and cycling (UCI) sanctioning body's asinine technology restrictions. Also, active suspension would be interesting. I'm not EE, but I would imagine the sensor pack required to cover the scope of bicycle kinematics would be a) too damn expensive and b) large and unwieldy. At least right now. I'll check on...
Dave, 1) Congrats on the forum hot-seat feature! 2) I'm curious when RS will be implementing GPS based valving programs. Particularly useful on Enduro-style courses where there are large and prevalent changes in particular terrain, as well as sizable demarcation regions between segments. I.e. Keystone's various trails linked into one race course. One could make segment-based profiles based on telemetry...

To my knowledge Kona has never implemented a Lawwill suspension design. Always linkage-driven single pivot. The Yeti, Schwinn and Rotec are the only brands that have used Mert's classic design. *EDIT* forgot about Tomac, they used a Lawwill rear end too.

Have you actually seen any of the latest-gen Spec. Stumpy or Enduro shocks? They have nothing close to a "dremel to make it work" eyelet (or in this case, lack thereof). It's a proprietary machined key-and-bolt interface. The above Kona appears to be a sandwich-style interface likely using a proprietary mounting hardware in a standard eyelet shock. Still, I believe that Specialized will be all over this as far as patents go.

dude.. it's a freakin' letter of intent, NOT a contract. they still have to work out the details. college athletes sign these all the time and back out and go to another school. a letter of intent by definition is the acknowledgement of willingness to do business. hope you guys don't fall off your horse.. it's way up there... Don't call him 'fastest man in the world'. James Stewart was the 'fastest man on the planet' and that tagline cursed him. Gwin is a fast dude, but everybody has their time. I don't agree with this decision as it shows a complete lack of professionalism on Gwin's part. I hope they get it sorted and everybody is happy to go racing. We don't need more drama complicating such a great sport.

Oh come on, cheating is rife in mountain biking too! For example, rumor has it that a few of the slopestyle guys regularly ride without being stoned, which clearly puts them at an unfair advantage compared to your average Joe. It's high time (yes, pun, whoop) they looked into that, it just can't go on like this.
