The Rat—Bought this as a stock Strive AL 6 Race (SML). Over the past few months removed the nonsense: Shapeshifter replaced with a Bike Yoke Modefixxer; X01 Eagle swapped out for Shimano 11sp on a Sram GX block; Lyrik with a Luftkappe.

planned upgrades: Works Components 1.5° angleset; and coil rear shock, either CCDB IL or RS Vivid R2C

Why remuving SS?

Slight cavitation in the piston assembly meant that it 'clunked' at about 40% sag when it was descend mode. Sure it had less pedal bob out of the saddle in climb mode but TBH I think it is a gimmick. Wasn't a fan of the added complication of having to knock it into descend mode at the top of the climb. I forgot to do it in a few stage races and it killed my vibe. Nah, swapped it out. Its nonsense. Have done plenty of big alpine climbs without needing it too.
