Headset cable routing “to avoid placing holes in the frame in an area that endures high stress,” literally right underneath a picture of a hole drilled into the chainstay dropout right next to a weld… Was excited for something small and playful from Commencal, unfortunately have to mark it off the list now. Plenty of comparable options that use external routing or well-sorted internal routing through the downtube.

Let's say I'd want to use a Wolftooth or a Works components headset, would I have to drill holes in my headset's top cover? What about the small cable radius to route the housing into the headset and then pass through the downtube/fork steerer area? How much would that affect shifting quality and housing durability? Not to mention cable rub on the steerer tube and housing damage from rubbing on the tube's sharp ends in the frame... If I was to get a bike with headset routed cables, I'd just stick on cable guides and run them externally. Sorry for...
