I had a wild experience the other day. I got caught in a major downpour and hadn't washed my helmet in years. The contents of the liner and helmet started washing down into my eyes and I had to walk out with it off because it was burning my eyes so badly. I'd start to improve a bit, clean it all off, then put it on and ride a bit before my eyes started to burn again.

If you live somewhere rainy in the summer...wash it before it gets washed for you down your face

It sucks when that syrup/sweat runs down into your eyes. It only ever happens on downhills as well LOL

Hi my name is Abe and I’m a sweaty guy.

My wife got me a subscription to the Vital gear box (bring it back once a quarter) one year for my birthday, and I have used the molecule helmet spray ever since. Keeps things fresher and not stinky. On sequential day rides I use it lightly, on very warm days maybe an extra spray.

Insane revelations in here, the internet is wild!

Lemme guess: you dudes who think your unwashed gear isn’t stank also don’t need to wash your feet because the water runs over them on its way down to the drain? I’ve seen that shit on Reddit!

There’s a particular type of athlete that’s compelled to do things like wash helmets in dishwashers, personally weight tyres, file parts and components to save weight, etc etc etc.
