Hi, I'm a high school student in Squamish BC and currently taking an entrepreneurship course in which we have to propose a business idea. My idea is called ProParts in which we will sell new and used excess gear from sponsored riders on consignment. So far we have commitments from a few local dh riders to take part. As part of the course we have to send out a survey to the riding community to gauge interest.
I hope you can take the time to fill out the form and help us out.
Thanks,
ProParts
^^^ that's my kid so I'll vouch that it's legit
Interesting idea.
Me personally, maybe I’d be less inclined to buy some bike bits from a pro rider that rides hard… now PoserParts would be something I’d be into! Brand new fancy kit that’s barely been used.
I have plenty of stuff that is in that category 🤣
Cool idea. Did the survey.
I just finished up paperwork for a highschool co-op student at my work, always great to see students actually engaged. I don't tend to buy used gear as at 6' 7" tall there aren't many options. But I filled out the survey for you!
Years ago Dak had a Devinci listed for sale. I was really interested in it but a couple things kept me from it. Mainly the suspension had a custom tune that I was concerned would be too stiff for a poser like me. I also had concerns the bike would be a bit beat up.
On another note, this is similar to how Pro's Closet got started, a pro road racer was selling off his old gear on eBay. Later he started doing the same for friends and eventually moved to their own website.
Easy now. There's only so much room for 6'7" forum members around here. I don't want to be bumping elbows all the time.
Survey completed. Though a few answers were awkward since I'm a former rider due to MS.
You're west coast, I'm east coast, I'd say we've got room to swing our elbows. But if there are any tall forum members in the middle they best be watching out though!
Yeah that’s understandable which is why we would like to tend on focusing more on the gear that is used once, twice or even never at all.
Thanks for the feedback.
